Datasets corresponding to the given hypothesis (blue circles) and the alternative-unknown hypothesis (green diamonds). For each dataset, 220 measurements are plotted reflecting the maximum of 10 measurements at 22 locations. Participants only saw a subset of the complete dataset—data were randomly selected and presented from the larger distribution based on each participants’ strategy.
