Sample Polarization Task stimuli for each of the five between-subject conditions: (1) red/blue dichotomous, (2) red/blue continuous, (3) orange/green dichotomous, and (4) orange/green continuous, and (5) uniform gray. Within the four hue varying conditions, the colors assigned to each state were randomized across participants, but the states were always divided evenly across the two hue categories. On each of the eight trials a participant completed, the position of the line with the arrow identified which of the 8 states the participant was judging. Note that the colors assigned to each state remained constant across a single participant’s trials
