Fees and funding
Open access publishing is not without costs. Cognitive Research: Principles and Implications therefore levies an article-processing charge of £960/$1500/€1220 for each article accepted for publication. The article-processing charge for Brief Reports is £480/$750/€610. We routinely waive charges for authors from low-income countries. For other countries, article-processing charge waivers or discounts are granted on a case-by-case basis to authors with insufficient funds. Authors can request a waiver or discount during the submission process. For further details, see our article-processing charge page.
Cognitive Research: Principles and Implications is affiliated with The Psychonomic Society. All members of the society are eligible for a 30% discount on the article-processing charge when submitting Original Articles to the journal.
Society members should indicate that they are covered by an institutional membership arrangement at the “APC Agreement” stage of submission and subsequently select the society from the provided list. Active membership to The Psychonomic Society will be verified by our Editorial Office before discounts are granted.
For non-members of the Society, some or all of the publication cost may be covered if the corresponding author's institution participates in our open access membership program (more details available on the membership page).
Springer Open provides a free open access funding support service to help authors discover and apply for article processing charge funding. Visit our OA funding and policy support page to view our list of research funders and institutions that provide funding for APCs, and to learn more about our email support service.
