The dual-task trial illustrates how to place additional load on working memory capacity by having the participant perform a demanding secondary task. The impact of the secondary task is illustrated for both time and accuracy. Long-term memory can influence all components and processes in the model either via pre-attentive processes or by conscious application of knowledge
