The number of changes of direction on each axis. On the basis of the Fourier analysis, we computed participantsā€™ modal time before changing direction on each axis, using their dominant frequency component. Dividing participantā€™s overall search time by the modal time before changing direction provided an estimate of the number of changes of direction.
